I’ve been using Vista since its Release n refuse to quit.

Vista seems to be a bug factory n i like to drive these bug out of my workspace.Om Gargatte

The most annoying of all is when your devices which worked with WinXP,

dont even get detected in Vista.

Here we look into one such case of installation of USB Memory stick

Similar method is employed for other devices

Example Device:Rockchip3 USB Memory stick

Note: i do not take any responsibility of possible disruption from normal functioning

of Your OS with following settings.

This is just for formality n the procedure is tested on several machines n works perfect!! :-)

install process of rockchip usb mp3 usb device on vista……1] go to run2] regedit3] click onHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersion

4] in the details pane,right click on devicepath,

click on Modify5] basic idea is to add folders- c:\windows\system32\driversc:\windows\system32\driverstore6]to do so, add the folders followed by semicolon;7]Caution- do not delete existing folder pathsEx: (look at the last line)

c:\windows\system32\drivers;c:\windows\system32\driverstore\en-us8]after doing this, plug in the device, and choose to browse and locate

9]give the driver path as- c:\windows\system32\driverstore10]your device will be installed. :-)

11]if not installed at 1st aattempt,

re-plugin the device n browse n give the same driver path.

doing this a couple of times will ensure the device installation .
